What ShinyTeach does

ShinyTeach is a marketplace that connects students with independent teachers of English, Mathematics, Physics and Life & Earth Sciences for live online lessons. Teachers set their own prices and availability. ShinyTeach provides the booking system, the online classroom, payments and support.

Your account

• Give accurate information and keep your password and, for administrators, your authenticator private.
• One person per account. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
• You must meet the age policy: PLACEHOLDER — LEGAL ACTION REQUIRED BEFORE PRODUCTION

Booking and paying

• You buy single lessons or packages at the price shown in your currency at checkout. The price is fixed at purchase.
• Package lessons must be used within the validity period shown when you buy them.
• Payments are processed by our payment provider (PLACEHOLDER — LEGAL ACTION REQUIRED BEFORE PRODUCTION). ShinyTeach never sees or stores your card number.

Cancellations, refunds and problems

The Cancellation Policy, Refund Policy and Dispute Policy are part of these terms. In short: you can cancel a confirmed lesson for free up to 24 hours before it starts, and you can report a problem with a lesson within 48 hours after it ends.

Rules for everyone

The Community Guidelines apply to every message, lesson, review and file. Students also follow the Student Rules; teachers also follow the Teacher Agreement.

Content and the platform

• Lesson materials remain the property of their authors. You may use them for your own learning only.
• Do not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or disrupt the platform, and do not arrange payments outside ShinyTeach for lessons found on ShinyTeach.

Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after reviewing the facts. You can close your account at any time from your settings once upcoming lessons, unused paid lessons and unpaid earnings are settled.

Liability

ShinyTeach provides the platform with reasonable care but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Changes

We publish new versions here with their effective date. When a change is significant, you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing to book or teach.

Applicable law
