Refund Policy
When you get your money or your lesson back.
Version 1 · in force since Wed 30 Sep 2026
PLACEHOLDER — LEGAL ACTION REQUIRED BEFORE PRODUCTION. This text describes how ShinyTeach works but has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
The principle
Every situation is settled in one of three ways, decided by ShinyTeach's rules and never at random: the lesson counts (the teacher is paid), the lesson is returned to your balance, or the money you paid for that lesson is refunded.
When you get a refund or your lesson back
- The teacher cancels: you get the lesson back to book again.
- The teacher does not show up: you get the lesson back to book again.
- ShinyTeach cancels the lesson: you get the lesson back to book again.
- A technical problem on our side prevents the lesson: you get the lesson back to book again.
When the lesson counts
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start, the lesson counts as taken and the teacher is paid. If you do not show up, the lesson counts as taken and the teacher is paid.
Unused lessons
Unused lessons of a package can be refunded on request while they are valid, according to the rules shown when you bought them.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method through the payment provider. The time it takes to appear depends on your bank. The amount is the price you paid for that lesson, in the currency you paid.
Consumer rights
This policy does not limit any right you have under mandatory consumer law.
